Attitudes towards guns have to date been driven by the coverage of the overwhelming tragedy of gun crime in communities across the country. .
Gun ownership and concealed carry has been an intense issue in Chicago since July 12, 2010 when a new Chicago city ordinance took effect allowing the possession of handguns with certain restrictions. Illinois was the last state to allow the concealed carry of firearms by citizens. The opposition to Concealed Carry is acutely focused in the black community, especially the city the streets has named “ChiRAQ.”
Luke 22:36 will take an in-depth look at both sides of the issue, but especially giving voice to concealed-carry licensees, instructors, community residents, exploring the concerns of all.
